Sample Edit
We offer all new clients a free sample edit of our Proofreading and Premium services (which we refer to as the sample edit), before the client pays anything. The sample edit is returned in three files, a Proofread file, a Proofread Plus file and a Premium file. In this way the client can see what to expect from the different levels of service.
To do a sample edit, we need the client to give us a deadline for completing and returning the sample edit. We also need to know the client’s deadline for handing in or submitting the full paper or document, and we need to see the full paper or document. The client should also specify their style guide or target journal (for submission guidelines), and the type of English (US or UK).
We need to see the full document to understand the general thesis or argument and to help us determine the amount of work involved. For the sample edit, we normally work on the first 1,000 words of the document, and return this sample edit to the client, in three files. At that point we also quote a price for each level of service on the whole document.
If the client is satisfied with the sample edit and the price quoted, we will continue working on the document at whatever level of service is required, as soon as a first instalment of payment is received.
